Each tread features an integrated bullnose, giving your staircase a professional, high-end finish without the need for separate nosing pieces. Simply remove your existing carpet, prepare the staircase, cut the tread to the required width, and bond it directly onto your existing timber or MDF staircase using our Recol Stair Tread Adhesive.

Because our stair treads are colour-matched to our laminate flooring collections, the tread clicks directly into your flooring on the landing, creating a beautiful continuous floor with no visible transition.

Although the tread itself is 12 mm thick, the integrated 42 mm front nosing gives the appearance of a traditional solid timber stair tread.

Installation

Installation is straightforward.

1. Remove the existing carpet or floor covering.
2. Ensure the existing staircase is clean, solid and level.
3. Cut the tread to the width of your staircase.
4. Bond the tread securely using our Recol Stair Tread Adhesive (15 kg bucket).
5. Finish the riser using matching laminate flooring or simply paint the riser for a modern contrasting look.

For the best results, we recommend using our Recol Adhesive, available separately on our website.

Adhesive Required

• 1 x 15 kg bucket of Recol Adhesive is typically sufficient for a standard 14-step staircase.

How Many Do I Need?

A typical staircase requires:

• 14 individual stair treads
• Approximately 2 boxes of matching laminate flooring to cover all risers (this may vary depending on your staircase dimensions)

Because we sell each tread individually, you can purchase exactly the quantity you require, whether you're renovating a full staircase or simply replacing one or two steps.

Professional Installation

These stair treads are suitable for confident DIY installers, but many customers choose to have them professionally fitted.

Typical installation costs are approximately:

• €500–€700 for a standard 14-step staircase (installation costs may vary by location and installer).

Your flooring will be delivered via courier in secure packaging. Deliveries take place Monday–Friday between 8:00am and 6:00pm, and a signature will be required.

All deliveries are kerbside. You can select a delivery date at checkout, up to four months in advance.

Need to return something? Return anytime within 30 days.

Items must be returned in resellable condition with original packaging unopened.

Before dispatch: Contact us for a full refund within 14 days.

In transit: We’ll work with the courier to stop it and refund minus delivery costs.

After delivery: You have 30 days from delivery to return items.
