Delivery

Upon delivery of your goods, we kindly ask that you open the pallet and check for any damage. You should also confirm that the correct items have been received before signing the Proof of Delivery (POD).

Please note: as per our haulage company's insurance policy, deliveries cannot be brought inside your home or living space.

It is the customer’s responsibility to verify that the correct product has been delivered. If the wrong flooring is installed, there will be no recourse available. Any flooring laid without being checked first is the full responsibility of the customer.

Customers are responsible for the disposal of pallet wrap, pallets and other packing materials used for deliveries. 

Fitting and Preparation

Before laying your floor—whether by yourself or a professional—please ensure the subfloor is suitable. The subfloor must be level and have a moisture level below 4%. A 10mm expansion gap should be left around the full perimeter of the room.

Where sufficient expansion gaps or breaks are not left in the floor, Wood Floor Store accepts no responsibility for any issues that may arise due to incorrect fitting.

As is standard in the industry, the floorboards come in a set number of patterns. It is essential that the fitter mixes these patterns throughout the fitting process to achieve a visually appealing result.

We recommend allowing your new flooring to acclimatise in the room for at least 48 hours prior to fitting. Boxes should remain unopened and be stacked in a way that allows airflow to reach all sides.

When fitting the floor, it’s important that no more than 8 linear metres are run continuously without a break, regardless of room shape.

A maximum of two rooms should be fitted without a break. If you choose to install flooring throughout a large area (e.g. the full ground floor) without breaks, please note that this voids the manufacturer’s guarantee. If proceeding with this layout, particular care must be taken to ensure expansion space is left around the perimeter—especially around door frames (minimum 10mm). Even with these measures, there is no guarantee issues will not arise.

After fitting, we strongly recommend you carry out a thorough inspection. In some cases, impact damage may not be visible until the floor is cleaned. If you notice anything unusual, please contact the fitter immediately.

Fitting Services

Should you wish to have your floor professionally installed, we’re happy to put you in touch with one of our trusted, independent fitting teams. We will provide an estimated cost for fitting and, if accepted, pass your details to the installer. Any additional charges will be confirmed following a site visit.

Please note: Once you agree to proceed, the fitting contract is between you and the independent fitter. Wood Floor Store accepts no responsibility for any issues or disputes arising from this agreement.

Product Specifications

Baum products are designed to be waterproof from top to bottom for up to 48 hours. However, this does not cover full submersion.

Subfloors must be completely level before installation. Uneven subfloors will cause issues, and Wood Floor Store will not be held responsible for damage due to improper preparation.

SPC flooring must be laid on a flat, solid surface. Additional underlay is not recommended as the boards already have one attached.

Prices of floors or fitting services do not include the cost of accessories - these must be requested separately.

Humm Refunds

Orders placed using Humm as the payment method cannot be held for more than two weeks. After this period, the order must be collected or delivered. If the customer is unable to receive the goods within this timeframe, the order may be cancelled or the finance application may need to be resubmitted.

Delivery

Delivery times vary by location and typically range from 1–12 business days across Ireland and the UK.

All deliveries are kerbside only, as courier drivers are not insured to bring pallets indoors.

Someone must be present to receive and take the goods inside.

If delivery is rescheduled on the day of or the day before the scheduled date (after 4:30pm), redelivery fees may apply.
