Can it be used with underfloor heating?
Yes, engineered wood flooring is suitable for most underfloor heating systems. Keep the surface temperature below 27°C and increase heat gradually at the start of each heating season.

Is it suitable for high traffic areas?
Yes, engineered wood offers excellent strength and dimensional stability, making it suitable for high traffic living areas such as halls and sitting rooms.

Does it need an expansion gap?
Yes, leave a consistent 10mm expansion gap around all walls, door frames and fixed furniture such as kitchen islands.

Can it be sanded or refinished?
Yes, depending on the wear layer thickness, this floor can usually be sanded and refinished several times over its lifespan.

What is the warranty?
Engineered floors in this range include a 25-year residential warranty when installed and maintained according to manufacturer guidelines.

Site preparation and subfloor
Remove all furniture and vacuum the subfloor thoroughly. Ensure the surface is clean, dry and level.
Check for dips, humps or debris — anything exceeding 2mm in a 1m span should be levelled with a suitable compound.
If installing over new concrete, confirm it is completely dry with moisture readings below 0.3% CM.
Use a quality underlay suitable for engineered flooring if installing as a floating floor, or a flexible wood flooring adhesive if bonding directly to the subfloor.

Expansion gaps
Leave a consistent 10mm gap around all perimeter walls, doorways, pillars and fixed features. When cutting around pipes, allow a 10mm gap around the pipe.

Setting out for herringbone

1. Locate and mark the centre of the room with a chalk line.

2. Dry lay several rows to confirm the herringbone pattern alignment and ensure an even layout at all edges.

3. Prepare a square starter board (approximately 750mm x 750mm) and fix it in the centre to use as a guide.

4. Sort the planks into left and right before beginning installation.

Installation steps

1. Spread adhesive evenly over a small section using a 3–6mm notched trowel.

2. Place the first left plank snug against the starter board, followed by a right plank to form the first “V” shape.

3. Continue alternating left and right planks, keeping the joints tight and aligned.

4. Work evenly across the room from the centre outwards, following your chalk lines.

5. Allow the adhesive to set before continuing with adjoining rows.

6. Measure and cut the final rows to fit neatly against the wall while maintaining a 10mm expansion gap.

7. Once complete, remove spacers and fit skirting or trims to cover the expansion gap, fixing them to the wall and not the floor.

Allow at least 24 hours before placing furniture or walking heavily on the floor.

Protection
To keep your engineered floor looking its best:

• Fit felt pads under all furniture and chair legs.

• Use mats at entrances to catch grit and moisture.

• Lift furniture rather than dragging it.

• Avoid sharp heels or metal footwear that could dent the surface.

• Apply maintenance oils or lacquer protection as needed.

Cleaning
Sweep or vacuum regularly using a soft brush or hard floor attachment. Clean with a lightly damp mop and a wood floor cleaner designed for engineered flooring. Avoid steam or wet mopping.

Heat and humidity
Maintain a temperature between 16°C and 28°C and humidity levels between 40–65% RH.
Wood expands and contracts naturally with changes in humidity, so stable conditions help preserve the integrity of your floor.

Underfloor heating
If used with underfloor heating, ensure the surface temperature stays below 27°C and heat is increased gradually to avoid shock expansion.
